We hope the information on this site enhances your visit to the museum and helps you understand more about the rich history of our village in north Essex.

The Museum opening times

Ashdon Museum kicks off the 2024 Season over the Easter weekend. Open on both Sunday 31st March & Monday 1st April, 2-5pm.

There are a number of artefacts on display for the first time and an exhibition devoted to the theme of childhood.

The tearoom will be open as usual, tea & cake is available @ £4 per person.

In addition, books, jigsaws & bric-a-brac will be on sale.

The museum will remain open on Sundays & bank holiday Mondays (2-5pm) for the remainder of the year.

 

Our opening times are:

Village PostmanEaster Sunday to the end of October – Sundays and Bank Holidays – 2-5pm

Between November and Easter the museum is closed

Please note we can only take cash payments for refreshments etc.

Extra opening hours are available for group bookings of 10 or more people.  Please contact us if you would like a group visit.

 

The tea room

 

When planning your visit don’t forget we have a lovely tea room with a fresh pots of tea and a wonderful selection of cakes served by our fantastic tearoom volunteers, just waiting for you. Do plan time to take afternoon tea with us and chat about what you’ve seen.

 

The Museum is a charity, set up and run by local people. We have no paid staff and rely on the generous support of our visitors, volunteers and donors.
